Yes. Generated links use the Files to Notion service on your computer. Keep the app running on the Mac or Windows PC where the file is available.

The database metadata is available through Notion, but a local file link does not upload or remotely share its contents. Opening a file requires a supported computer with the app and that file available locally.

A local link refers to a file path. If that path changes, the old link may no longer work. Synchronize the directory again and check the new entry. Keep a separate backup of important files.

Each teammate needs a downloaded local copy, access to the Notion database, and the app configured with Shared Team Directories. Read the team setup guide before choosing this workflow.
